downtown

February 4th, 2010

tomorrow there’ll be lots more road closures downtown (due to the O-lympics) so i took advantage of today and did some running around. lots of road closures already. and parking meters? not so much…they are now covered in red vinyl. NO PARKING. totally inspired to ride my bike around vancouver during the games, the car can stay in the cove.

i headed to pyrrha to pick up my valentine order–stay tuned for a big pyrrha web update tomorrow. wade & danielle (pyrrha’s owners) bought an old house and turned it into their offices/studio. lucky.

did i mention it was warm & sunny today?? people were walking around in t-shirts, birds were singing, cherry blossoms were blooming right before my eyes…

next up…lunch at liberty and an order pick-up from the lovely sasha from track & field designs. her collection is so darn sweet and sasha has kick a$$ tattoos. remind me to get photos of them sometime.

last up…a visit to erin templeton’s studio in chinatown to order new bags for spring. i adored erin and her shop is filled with vintage clothing, bags, accessories and other neat stuff (including her gorgeous bags). too bad i was so worried about my car being towed to stay too long (NO PARKING). stay tuned for her lovely handmade bags to appear in the cove in early march.

now it’s time for some dinner (lemon cake from liberty), a walk with the boys and a quick trip down to the shop to mail some online orders & drop off the new special things…gotta be home for 30 rock & the office!

nite. nite.

did anyone else get the “pants on the ground” song stuck in their head? sheesh…i don’t even watch american idol…how’d that happen? anyway, i’ve been singing “hearts on the brain” to the tune of “pants on the ground” and wanted to share this tutorial from the purl bee for making these adorable little hearts.

i found myself at university village on my way out of seattle yesterday (i was on a mission to find a certain mac eyeshadow which is sold out in canada and they happened to have at the mac store at u village)–anyhoo…i saw these pretty pink vases which beckoned me inside. one product, every colour imaginable. i wanted them all.

it’s a ridiculously gorgeous day in deep cove. i’ve been for a hike with the boys and am going to take a quick shower and head down to the shop. it’s back to work!

two (unrelated) thoughts for tuesday

i want to redo our bedroom. and by redo, i actually mean “do” because since we’ve lived here (almost 6 years) we’ve never really done anything to it (aside from a few coats of white paint and some ikea flooring). anyhoo…i’ll add that to my growing wish list of house projects. i love the feel of this room (esp. the pink cabinet!) from the flea market style book found on poppytalk today.

and…

i really like this print (from olivia tabert also found on poppytalk today.) true enough, don’t ya think?

it’s another rainy day here in deep cove (sigh) and if i didn’t have a million and one things to do today, i would most certainly spend the afternoon making these lovely button cookies .
