learntoknit.jpg

we’ve just received an order of brand new yarn for fall from a company called Mirasol (check it out in the d.i.y. section of our website) which is sooooo lovely…this is your year to learn to knit! check out the schedule below…or, if you’ve learned to knit but want to move on to a new project, come to our deep cove drop-in & knit sessions where you can meet other knitters, get help getting started, get help getting finished or just get out of the house!

learn-to-knit (this is knitting 101 for those who haven’t knit before)
Saturday, October 13th from 10am-12pm @ the Seymour Art Gallery across the street from Room6 in deep cove.

$20 + materials: we’ll have a nice selection of yarn & needles for you to choose from the morning of the class, or you can pop in anytime to pick out your goodies beforehand. in this class, Yvette will teach you how to cast on (getting the yarn on to the needles) and to knit. you’ll be on your way to making your very first scarf! christmas presents anyone?!

deep cove?

deep cove is a sweet little community on the ocean cove, nestled in the mountains–it’s all kinds of beautiful. my commute to work takes about 5 minutes (less when i’m running, which i usually am since i’m always late)…

rich (husband), tucker (dog baby) and i (megan) moved to deep cove from stowe, vermont almost 4 years ago. it was rich’s job that initially brought us here, but it’s the people, the mountains, the ocean, the proximity to vancouver & whistler, did I mention the mountains? that keeps us here. for mountain bikers, snowboarders & outdoor lovers, it’s a little slice of paradise…come visit!

dogs are love

my boys…

for any of you who’ve visited us in the cove, you know that dogs are a big part of my life & a big part of Room6. if you haven’t been able to pop in and meet august (auggie for short) you can meet him here! he has a huge local following…

after 14 years of being a puppy, tucker left for his next adventure on June 17, 2008 after a tough fight with cancer. he was my oldest and dearest friend. i miss him like crazy but he will always be in my heart.

and sweet, sweet Biggie who many of you knew and everyone loved. we rescued biggie as a senior and had 2 incredible years & a lifetime of memories together. his legacy is to love big. be big.
