special things for nice people
one thing that’s so incredible about where we live is that it can be raining at my house and shop…but snowing up on the mountain. tucker happily makes the transition from swimming in the ocean everyday to playing in the snow on mt. seymour. here he is taking a little break from burying his frisbee!
my family is in town from hood river, OR and yesterday we went up to play in the snow on Mt. Seymour. there wasn’t a ton of snow, but enough for Tucker & Auggie (our dog babies) to have a blast! Tucker dug holes for his frisbee and Auggie ate half the snow up there! anyway, we thought it would be a great opportunity to take a picture for our christmas cards and that made me think I should get going on them! (I’m notorious for sending them out late and this year I really want to get them in the mail soon!)

Room6 would like to welcome it’s newest family member! we have a GIANT uglydoll…my personal favorite, OX (as in “O” for kisses & “X” for hugs) in our shop for the holidays!
GIANT uglydolls are very rare, in fact, this OX is the very first (& only) in Canada! My husband (who is endlessly talented) made him his very own sleigh!
and the best part…we’re donating OX to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice on January 2nd. we thought it was the perfect home for him…OX gives great hugs! So come on in and see him while he’s in the Cove…oh, and OX is also accepting donations on behalf of Canuck Place so if you have an extra loonie or two, you can drop it in the OX BOX.
the surprise is in the shop! which means for those of you who live close-by, you can pop in and see…for the rest of you…I promise I will take pics and reveal the BIG surprise later today! must go take the dogs for a walk first.
the new pear collection from marimekko is soooo sweet! there are pear mugs in orange and green, tea towels in both colours and the sweetest little pear tray for your cream and sugar. they’re just so colourful and happy!
tricia aviss brought us some beautiful new original paintings over the weekend too! i told her to (please) stop bringing in art that i must take home!
teaposy is here too! i am loving this collection…they are these amazing blooming teas that are truly a little piece of beautifulness. i’m working on getting them up on the website, but really, you have to see them in person! plus, it’s kind of hard to drink tea online.
we had another successful drop-in knit night at the Seymour Art Gallery and once again, thanks Jacquie! Jacquie is an avid knitter (and happens to run the Gallery) and she is out of commission with a knitting injury!! too much knitting! i know, our hero…anyway, she is hoping to be back in a couple of weeks.
this little bear was knit by stephanie knitting-extraordinaire jutras! how sweet is he? it’s made from sulka…yum! we’ve convinced her (i think) to teach us how to make him!
there were so many great show-and-tell projects! i’m so proud (gush) of all the new knitters! thanks for coming y’all!
