i made it back to vancouver (shot this on my way home from the airport on my iphone…while driving….in the rain…good thing my dad doesn’t read my blog or he’d be really mad at me).

if you haven’t been to YVR, we have a massive halogen light display of the olympic rings as you leave the airport.

anyhoo…my flight left madison late so i had to sprint to terminal C (o’hare is a big airport!) but i just made it. now back to updating the website, re-arranging the shop to make room for all the new arrivals and decorating for the holidays!

to grandmother’s house i’ve come…

i’m in madison, WI for a quick pre-holiday visit with my gram and family here in wisconsin. argie has been holding down the fort and i’ll be back in the shop on thursday and promise to begin updating you guys on all the new arrivals (poor argie has been slammed with shipments while i’ve been gone.) stay tuned!

had a lovely weekend in hood river, OR with my family for an early holiday celebration. the orchards are so lovely in the off season. this pear was hanging all by its lonesome…

i am now paying the price for being gone for a few days. SO. MUCH. TO. DO.

aiming for a HUGE web update on friday (which will only happen if i can find my keyboard under all these boxes) and also have BIG plans for turning our little shop into a winter wonderland.

must go take bubble bath now. nite nite.

our “men’s department” at Room6 is actually a small suitcase filled with identity tees, identity toques and a few other goodies. guys are hard to buy for, trust me…i know. and since we don’t sell bike parts at Room6 (chris king headset anyone?), it makes it extra challenging for me to shop for my man.

lucky for us, Meghan keeps coming up with new Identity tee prints and this year she’s added two new ones…poutine and the zamboni* as well as some great toques.

the bottle openers from fluffy co. in san fran have also been flying off the shelves and more are on the way….and the fluffy co. belt buckles are also great gifts. there are a few other great guy gifts on the way like these sweet iphone cases–stay tuned!

i didn’t make these. but it’s one of the *many* things i stumble across that i wish i had. aren’t they pretty?

did i tell you that i challenged rich* (hubby) to a dish putting away contest last week? you see, i have this really bad habit of not picking up after myself. it’s embarrassing really. my mom would be mortified. and did you ever notice how when things are messy, they just get mess-IER? so…together, rich and i have kept the kitchen sink refreshingly dirty dish free for a whole week.

maybe i should treat myself to a pretty felt rock to celebrate.

and speaking of celebrating…apparently there’s some big holiday coming up. how do i know this? it’s EVERYWHERE. ALREADY. and i’m never ready. you’d think that after 5 years of doing this retail thing i’d have it down. but, alas, i am a procrastinator and i do my best work under pressure.¬† stay tuned for holiday ’09 at Room6. coming, like…real soon.

*to clarify, rich is better at putting away stuff than i am. hands down. BUT, if there are already dirty dishes in the sink, they just seem to multiply. in our family, he’s the picker-upper and i’m the deep down cleaner-upper. who doesn’t love a sparkling clean tub?

today is the perfect day for crafting. i’m working on some new displays for the shop AND…drumroll please…some new products too.¬† if they turn out well, you’ll get to see ‘em!
