novsnow.jpg

of having a little blog with little pics! i’m so excited to be launching a brand new & improved blog this week! so much to show you guys too…snowflakes, mittens, new confections (unless argie and i keep eating them all) and more. now i’ll be able to share much BIGGER pictures of all the goods! happy last day of november! (how’d that happen anyway?)

this quote

dallasquote1.jpg

from the author dallas clayton sums up black friday shopping pretty well:

“I don’t know which is worse: sleeping in a tent in front of Best Buy so you can be first in line or tricking an entire nation into thinking there is something inside Best Buy that is worth sleeping in a tent for.”

from dallas clayton’s blog. he’s the author of the much loved Awesome Books.)

happy thanksgiving

thanksgiving1.jpg

wanted to wish my friends & family in the US a Happy Thanksgiving today! here’s to watching football, eating lots of great food and getting a sore bum from too much sitting! i woke up to a winter wonderland today, about an inch or so of snow in the cove right now & it’s still steadily falling. let the holidays begin!

in the weeds

all you former (or present) waitresses and bartenders are probably quite familiar with this expression.

IN. THE. WEEDS.

vancouver’s first snowstorm

covesnow1.jpg

there was talk of a snowstorm in vancouver last night. i LUUUUUUUV snow so i was hoping to wake up to a winter wonderland, but i’ll have to settle for a tiny dusting here in the cove. the snow line continues to creep farther and farther down the mountain. i hope we’ll get a least one big dump (preferably on December 25) so the snow on the mountains creeps all the way into the ocean cove.

this blog has been neglected this week…it’s been capital N NUTS ’round here. i’ll be in the shop today so if you’re out and about pop in and say hello!

uniform natural scarves are back in stock!

uniformnatural1.jpg

these gorgeous hand-dyed gossamer scarves flew off the shelves, but if you missed ‘em, they’re back! we’ll have these back online later today…love!

okay firefox

mushroomornamnets3.jpg

if you want to be that way, i will use safari because so apparently if i use safari instead of firefox i can load pics to my blog again. (hot tip from my web team–thx!) these are the mushroom ornaments that i wanted to show you in my last blog post.

in other news…have i told you guys we’re decorating the shop with felt mitten and tree garland this holiday season. all cut out, glued and sewn by hand. the hands include: husband, mom, sis-in-law, 2.5 year old niece and of course miss argie (& me too!)–my brother refused to cut felt even though my motto during their recent visit was, “if you’re sitting, you’re cutting.”

holiday…coming soon

my blog is not accepting any picture uploads…ugh! sorry i was going to show you some of the great stuff we’re unpacking for the holidays.

avoca

yesterday we received an order of gorgeous blankets from avoca in ireland. this summer i was lucky enough to visit several avoca shops & cafes in ireland…and the avoca mill which has been around since 1723 (seventeen twenty three!). i saw the blankets being woven and hand-picked my favorites. i’ve been waiting (not so patiently) for them to arrive since june. the colours are AH-MAZING.
