the sunshine got to me yesterday (in a good way) & i decided to have a little giveaway this week! today’s giveaway is for a lovely orla kiely oval stem print wallet in jade which retails for $105. you guys know i’m a huge orla fan and i wanted to spread the love.

just leave a comment below and a winner will be chosen at random. the contest runs through sunday, october 2nd at 9PST and i’ll announce the winner on monday. i’d love it if you liked Room6 on facebook to keep up with future giveaways, news, etc…but that’s not a requirement :)

good luck & happy friday!

(please note: shipping only within Canada and the United States.)

update: flattery will get you everywhere! you guys are making my day with all the nice comments–thank you! i wish you could all win. but then i’d be broke :(

another update: it’s after 9PM & the comments are now closed, only i can’t figure out how to turn them off. the lucky winner will be announced tomorrow morning, thanks for commenting everyone!

dottie angel

we received our dottie angel books today (the second book in the suitcase series by calgary’s uppercase gallery) and i’m in love. such a pretty pretty book!

“if i go to sleep at night knowing i have visited my imagination, however fleeting it may have been, then i know i have spent my day wisely.” – tif fussell

look! it’s online :)

my old stomping ground

in one week (yikes!) i’m heading to boston and stowe, VT for a quick visit with my mom. there’s never a “good time” to get away, so sometimes you just have to book your flight and hope for the best. it went something like this over the summer:

me: ”mom, i was thinking, maybe, like 2% chance we could meet up in boston for a quick girls weekend in october.”

mom: “i’m so excited about your visit-we’ll have so much fun!”

translation: with my mom, 2% chance is the same thing as booking your flight.

just a heads up the shop will be closed thanksgiving weekend on sunday, october 9th and monday, october 10th. unless you want to be the one to tell my mom i can’t come.

from france to the cove

one of the best parts of my job as a shopkeep is getting to meet all sorts of nice & interesting people. on monday i met a lovely couple visiting from france and i was so flattered when emilie told me she’d seen my shop online beforehand and came to visit. turns out she has a pretty, pretty blog and took some pics of little old room6. how much do i want to go out and buy all sorts of colours of nail polish and paint my nails (and improve my photography skills)?!

A LOT.

new arrivals

today is gorgeous in the cove but people are acting like it’s the last day of sunshine that we’re going to have for like, ever. apparently the forecast is not looking good. thankfully i love cozy fall days (with a bit of sunshine thrown in) and i’m loving all our new fall arrivals.

yesterday we received a new shipment from curator in san fran, loads of fabulous new scarves and ilse jacobsen rainboots from denmark. the sloan jacket (above) is made in san fran from soft organic fleece and it has a hood for really cozying up, available in XS-L $165. (update sept 21: yikes, you guys love the sloan too! only one left in size XS, i’ll try and see if i can get more :)

i’m smitten with my flannel tunic from allison wonderland (sorry, rich’s belt is not included. he’d like to keep it, i used a chip clip to hold it in place for the photo.) all in store now…online soon.
