glassybaby love

rich and the boys and i stopped at glassybaby in seattle on our way to oregon last weekend and picked up a new order of glassybabies for the shop. love! each glassybaby is handmade in the madrona studio, definitely a must-visit if you’re in the seattle area. since november 2003, glassybaby has donated over $837,000 to cancer related charities and organizations. i’m really proud to have glassybaby on our shelves in deep cove.

sunshine

it seems like once a year, the rainy and grey days get to me and i threaten to drive south until i see the sun. fortunately, we already had a trip scheduled to visit family in oregon this weekend and wouldn’t you know it, there was actually sunshine in vancouver yesterday morning.

i snapped this crossing the second narrows bridge yesterday to remind myself that, yes, the sun does indeed shine in vancouver. i just checked the weather in deep cove and it looks like more rain for the next few days. (sorry.)

sending you guys sunshine from oregon (it’s sunny today anyway)…hope you have a lovely weekend…rain or shine.

badger love

dear rich,

if you are reading my blog, this is perfect valentine for me!

new arrivals from banquet workshop!

confession

will we still be friends if i tell you that i have a weakness for glitter? gold in particular. i’m starting to decorate the shop for valentine’s and i made some glitter heart garland. also, i brought the big ladder today because i’m planning to hang some garland outside too. of course, it’s pouring rain so the mayor doesn’t want to assist.

wish me luck!

pretty parties

you know all that pretty stuff you see on all the pretty blogs at all the pretty parties? well, i’m working on finding it for you guys so instead of oogling over it on websites, you can actually use it at your own parties. first up, these amazing paper party straws. i! love! them!

retirement

two things my mom has been practicing since retiring*…macaron making and photo taking. she’s doing really well, don’t ya think? she emailed me this photo (maybe even from her ipad) and said, “i have been thinking about france and all things french.”

and, “note the pied.”**

*retirement also means taking french lessons, a watercolour class and becoming a board member. in between baking and hiking/snowshoeing 6 miles a day.

**a macaron isn’t a macaron without a proper pied (foot)
