our first shipment of milk denim (made in canada by the same folks that brought us our best-selling domino jeans) is here! our first batch includes red velvet, royal affair and sand. i love the fit of these jeans…if you loved the kochi, they have a similar fit with a slightly higher rise. they’re the perfect lightweight fabric for the warm & sunny days ahead! love! $98

ever so patiently…

i may or may not have celebrated a birthday this week so my darling husband and sweeter-than-sweet boys carted me all over the city. flowers, chocolate, vintage shopping, photo taking, pizza eating-it was a wonderful day.

ps: my family is in town visiting all week so things are a little behind on this here blog! i’ll be back soon with updates on all our lovely new arrivals.  xox

pysanka

a customer popped in the shop this week with pysanka eggs that she’d made with her kids in a workshop across the street at artemis. the workshop was so popular, they’ve added  a second pysanka workshop on tuesday, march 27th if you want to get your pysanka on.

too busy?

i’ve got a long way to go in the time management department, but i have to say, just changing my language around what’s a “priority” has helped. even rich says this little jedi-mind trick works.

here’s the excerpt from a WSJ article entitled, “Are you as busy as you think?” which i caught on cup of jo last week.

Change your language. Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I’m not going to edit your résumé, sweetie, because it’s not a priority.” “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently.

image of a clock i would have brought back from the flea market in paris. if only it would’ve fit in my carry-on.

erik & elinor from maileg

wonderful new arrivals from maileg in denmark. this is erik & his sister elinor.

and just like that…

it was spring (on paper anyway). i’m excited about putting together our “bunnies & butterflies” spring/easter window display today. we just received an order of brand new bunnies from maileg in denmark and the lovely fiona was cutting out butterflies from vintage paper yesterday (thanks fiona!). and these beautiful hand-crafted chocolate eggs filled with “pebbles” from beta 5 in vancouver are expected soon too. yum!
