we just received these lovely new prints by minnesota illustrator/artist jessie schneider.

yesterday i embarked on a little field trip to the 2-month old harvest community foods in vancouver in search of earnest ice cream. harvest community foods was born after neat project called This Space asked community residents what type of business they wanted at 243 union street in vancouver. the shop is lovely, filled with local produce, amazing pasta sauces, spices, soups, sandwiches and of course, ICE CREAM. i’m from wisconsin and we don’t take our ice cream lightly. earnest ice cream is dreamy. i sampled the salty caramel, vanilla and cardamom and ended up bringing home a jar of vanilla with fresh picked strawberries. yum.

i caught a great Q & A with donna wilson (one of my favorites!) via the UK-based confessions of a design geek blog today. cute!

i’m running down to the cove to take mike for a swim this morning, but i promise i’m going to work on updating the website today. i’m so excited about all the pretty chan luu pieces i ordered in paris and have been waiting oh-so-patiently to appear. in store now!

i’ve felt like a kid in a candy shop this week as we’ve received new arrivals from fluxus, chan luu, kinfolk, molly m, leah duncan, orla kiely, elephantine and herschel (to name a few). it’s been a crazy week for me, but i’m hoping to work on the website tomorrow so you guys can see all the goodies. we had a stellar summer sunshiny day in the cove today, hope you’re having a nice week!

let me start by saying that auggie should be just fine. but he’s real sore since he decided to chase his little (but much bigger) brother mike up a retaining wall. he came up a bit short and took a hard hit to the chest. poor little sugar.

oh yes, this all happened around 10:30 this morning so rather than opening the shop at 11, i was with him at the vet. sorry if i missed any of you, auggie and i are both in the shop now, we were just a bit delayed.

this was the (crazy!) view from the north shore looking over to vancouver this evening. caught on instagram because wouldn’t you know, i didn’t bring my camera. note to self: always bring camera.
