we’re redoing our tiny ensuite bathroom and bob (contractor/handyman extraordinaire) found these honeycomb/helix tiles that i just love! and i found a vintage cast iron clawfoot tub (i’ve dreamt of a having a clawfoot tub since i can remember) on craigslist and we’re going to check it out tomorrow. bring on the cast iron! (says the girl who will not be carrying it down our 47 steep stairs and then back up a bunch more in a tiny awkward hallway.)
…but back to the tile…i’m leaning towards a grey grout since white grout will eventually turn grey anyway…but what do you guys think? has anyone had any experience/feedback with grout colours on white tile?

definitely go with a darker colour. we had white tile with white grout in our old apartment and it was never really white ever again. with that amount of grout you don’t want to have to worry about keeping it clean too!
thanks Leah! do you think a more traditional dark/charcoal grey or a lighter shade? scored a cast iron tub on craigslist this morning…very excited about how it’s all coming together!
go with darker for sure. what are your plans for the tub? I’ve seen some people paint just the outside a colour and leave the inside white, and it looks crazy cool.
just happened to see this tub on design sponge. yellow!

thanks leah! this is a tiny project and it’s totally stressing me out. i can’t imagine doing this to a whole house! 35 sq feet at at time :)
Go with the dark grout. We have the same tile in our bathroom (done before we purchased the house) and it is a lighter color. There are definitely spots that are dirty or stained and just won’t come clean…it drives me nuts! I think the dark/charcoal grout looks nice with the hex tile anyway. Good luck getting that tub into your place!
thanks courtney! it’s so hard to tell online but i’m going to go look at grout in person, i’m leaning towards a bit darker as well, i think having it look dirty would drive me crazy. :)
