and a word about the wood in the photo.

we were in oregon earlier this month and there were some fallen trees at my brother’s house (you know, on the christmas tree farm). after rich had strategically and methodically packed the car, i remembered i *needed* to cut some of the wood to make a teepee. and rich just loves it when he’s packed the car and i do something like come running down the hill with 4 rather long pieces of timber. also, he always gets a little nervous when i’m holding any kind of tool and power tools make him particularly uncomfortable*. after more than a decade together, he’s come to expect such shinanigans from me. anyhoo…the teepee didn’t work out (which reminds me i need to return the painter’s canvas i bought for this ill-fated d.i.y.), but the wood is really lovely in the window.

*my d.i.y projects have resulted in stitches, bruises and other catastrophes.

we popped down to oregon earlier this month for a quick visit with the family. little boy & little girl are the best of the friends.

we’ve just received 4 amazing new fall colours from milk. made in canada and nicely priced at $98. from left to right, camel, rust, olive, mustard.

i’m lucky that my donation to the Seymour Art Gallery 1-2-3 art party accidentally ended up losing a battle (it was not a fair fight) with their paper shredder and i had to run down to the shop tonight to make a replacement. i’d be thrilled if you bid on the $50 room6 gift certificate as 100% of the proceeds go directly to the seymour art gallery. xox
